My login from php|a doesn't work on the forum and I don't want to register yet another php|a username, so I figure I'll leave it here.
What's your testing harness look like? Single pass, 1,000 passes and averaging the time, median time, or cumulative time? Also, I didn't see a link to the phpinfo() output.
I've replied to my initial post with details on how PHP will be built.
How could knowing which timing method will be used affect how your script is written? Multiple passes indubidubly.
Well there's all kinds of creative caching that can be done to make it run faster depending on how its timed and the harness used.

Paul, I think your task description is a little ambiguous: You say "all the links that would be displayed as hyper links". Your sample output shows the href's of CSS tags. Clearly, these are not "displayed as hyper links". A little later, you mention "contained within anchor tags". By definition, anchor tag means tag. Can you please clarify exactly which URLs the program should output?
